The first thing most people notice at Circus Circus is the 123-ft tall
clown-shaped marquee in the front of the Casino Tower. Inside, there are
free circus acts, a carnival midway, arcade games and The Adventurdome
theme park. All this together, makes this hotel the No. 1 hotel choice
for families with children.
Accommodations: After several expansions there are 3,612 rooms
and 130 suites, with most of the decor featuring soft blue carpeting,
light-wood furniture, pastel spreads and upholstery and just a few
hot-air balloons painted on the wall.
Casino & Gaming: The casino, spread over three separate
gaming areas, is best compared to Times Square on New Year's Eve. With
101,286 sq. ft of gaming space, guests can try their luck on 2,220 slot
machines, including video poker, keno and 21. Gaming tables offer
Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Big Six, Pai Gow Poker, Caribbean Stud
Poker, Let It Ride, Casino War, and Poker. The main level of the Casino
tower has a 160-seat keno lounge and a full race and sports book with
individual television sets.
Race & Sports Book: A convenient feature at this usually
crowded book is that tellers can cash tickets as well was write bets (no
need to stand in a cashier's line). In addition to pari-mutuel horse
racing and the usual range of sporting events, bettors will find
football and baseball parlay cards year-round. Minimum bet is $5.00;
Maximum bets include (side/total): NFL $10,000/1000), College Football
($3000/500), NBA ($1500/500), College Basketball ($500/300), Baseball
($1500/500), Hockey ($500/300).
Attractions: Adventuredome - fully enclosed and completely
climate controlled - is one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas
for kids. Designed to resemble a classic desert canyon, hand-painted
rock gives way to caverns, pinnacles and steep cliffs while a stream
flows through the stark landscaping, cascading over a 90-foot fall.
Adding to the setting are eight life-size dinosaurs dwelling among two
140-foot peaks, a fossil wall, an archeological dig and Pueblo Indian
cliff dwellings. The park's rides appeal to kids of all ages and include
a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster, a wild water flume ride
and a futuristic laser-tag arena. The Circusland Recreational Vehicle
Park features 399 spaces with full hook-ups and the Circus Circus Hotel,
Casino and Theme Park is just steps away. The RV Park has its own pool,
playground, a 12-machine arcade, pool table, general store, laundry
room, and large meeting room.
Entertainment: Dazzling aerialists, high-wire walkers, trapeze
artists and clowns from around the world perform twice an hour daily
from 11 a.m. to midnight under the Circus Circus Big Top.
Dining: There is something for everyone at Circus Circus. The
Steak House serves quality Midwestern beef, aged to perfection in a
glass enclosed aging room, showcased in the seating area of the dining
room. The prime cuts are then prepared for all to see over an
exhibition-style open-hearth mesquite charcoal broiler. Stivali Italian
Ristorante offers traditional Italian dining, featuring homemade sauces,
pastas and breads, while adding new twists in appetizers like Stuffed
Portabella Mushrooms. It has been said that the Circus Buffet is the
busiest buffet in the world. The four serving lines average 10,000
customers per day. The buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Monday through Friday. For 24-hour dining try the Promenade Cafe or The
Pink Pony.
